What to Expect at Plano Wellness
Clear guidance, thoughtful care, and a supportive experience—every step of the way.
Starting Care with Confidence
Visiting a new healthcare provider can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re dealing with symptoms that haven’t been fully explained or addressed. At Plano Wellness, we aim to make your experience feel calm, informed, and respectful from the beginning.
This page outlines what you can expect before, during, and after your first visit.
Scheduling Your First Visit
New patients can schedule an appointment by phone or online.
Once your appointment is booked, you’ll receive:
- A brief intake form to complete before your visit
- Instructions on what to bring
- Guidance on insurance and billing
Completing intake forms in advance allows your provider to better understand your concerns before you arrive.
Your Initial Appointment
Your first visit is designed to be thorough and unhurried.
During this appointment, your provider will:
- Review your medical history and current concerns
- Discuss symptoms and how they’ve changed over time
- Talk through goals, questions, and priorities
- Explain possible care options and next steps
If hormone therapy or additional evaluation is appropriate, this will be discussed thoughtfully—not rushed or assumed.
Nurse Practitioners
Most routine well-woman annual visits and follow-up care are provided by our nurse practitioners, who specialize in women’s health and work closely with Dr. Diaz.
They are experienced in evaluating symptoms, coordinating care, and ensuring continuity.
Dr. Diaz focuses on:
- Complex gynecologic concerns
- Surgical care
- Extended wellness visits
- Oversight of hormone therapy and care protocols
If your nurse practitioner identifies concerns that require additional evaluation or surgical consultation, you will be scheduled with Dr. Diaz for a separate visit.
Follow-Up and Ongoing Care
Care at Plano Wellness does not stop after one visit. Our goal is to provide continuity and support—not one-time answers.
Depending on your needs, follow-up care may include:
1. Monitoring symptoms over time
2. Reviewing lab results (if applicable)
3. Adjusting care plans as your body responds
4. Coordinating care between providers
Insurance and Payment Information
Plano Wellness accepts many insurance plans for routine and medically necessary care.
Some services, such as extended wellness visits with Dr. Diaz, are offered as a direct-pay option and are not covered by insurance. These visits allow for additional time and a broader scope of discussion.
Our team is happy to explain coverage and payment options before scheduling.
